The database survey consists of paper and digital maps, which depict interviewed workers in the herbal industry as well as showcasing the different types of herbs in the region. In Hungary, the database survey will also allow for a publication to be produced, which will reveal the characteristics of the most common herbs, their edicinal properties and their methods of cultivation. A similar publication will be produced in Slovakia, which will present the best practices from Hungary and Slovakia. Over the course of this database project, ten herbalists from Hungary and ten others from Slovakia (such as farmers, product manufacturers, producers, traders and educators) will be selected from the survey to take part in the publication as part of an initiative to motivate individuals wishing to work in this industry.
In Slovakia, an analysis will also be conducted on the current legislation regarding herb cultivation.
